Colorful Festivals of Assam

Assam, One of the seven sister states in India. Located in the south of the eastern Himalayas. Not only the weather but also there are a number of festivals which are colorful represents the colorful heritage and rich culture of India. Ambubashi Festival - Kamakhya Devi temple in Guwahati is the place where you need to visit to see the celebration. This festival is celebrated for four days, and this happens during the monsoon season every year. It is not a public holiday for the four days. On these four days, devotees pray Goddess Kamakhya. The idol of Goddess Kamakhya is cleaned with milk and water followed by different rituals. Few devotees from all around come to this place on this day to show their skills and tricks. There are much more to see during an Ambubashi Festival at Kamakhya Devi temple in Guwahati.

Tea Festival - We all know that tea is famous Assam is famous for tea. Assam stands in the second place in the world when it comes to Tea Production. In the city of Jorhat, Tea festival is celebrated in a very excellent way. This festival happens during the month of May. It is not a public holiday in Assam to taste different flavors of tea you must visit this exhibition.
