Fifteen public holidays in Uttar Pradesh Cancelled?

Fifteen public holidays in Uttar Pradesh are canceled. Those fifteen Holidays are the birth or death anniversary of eminent personalities. These holidays in Uttar Pradesh are canceled only for schools and colleges, not for banks. Of these fifteen canceled holidays, few holidays are only for schools and colleges bu not a bank holiday in UP.
 
Uttar Pradesh government has decided instead of giving a Holiday to schools and colleges would now be taught about those personalities on these days.
 
The reason for taking this step is there are 42 public holidays of which at least 17 are related to the birth anniversaries, and the academic session has been reduced to only 120 days due to such holidays. So than giving a public holiday on these occasions. Uttar Pradesh Government has taken a step of teaching students about the eminence of those personalities on the occasion of their Birthdays.
